Oh Bugger [Feb. 9th, 2004|08:05 pm]

[Current Music | country music, the music of pain]

So I've been dieting and exercising and up to last week Id lost eleven pounds.. so I went to weigh in tonight and they told me I'd put Four pounds back on WTF!!! I don't put that much weight on after a fortnights holiday involving non exercising and eating everything in sight . So how the hell can I have done it in a week where I was pretty much good???

Came back very depressed and ready to hit the chocolate and was slightly mollified by Rod's Comment.. the conversation went " How Did it go?"

" I put on Four Pounds"

" Bollocks! their scales are wrong.. if anything you've lost another couple"

Oh bless him,he may be fibbing but at least he's stopped me heading to the fridge to eat everything in sight

Hey there! Sorry for taking so bloody long to leave a comment here! I know of someone who worked for a Weightwatchers-like slimming club & she said setting the scales to register heavier was a trick that many of her colleagues pulled in order to get people buying more of their products. I'm not saying that's what's happened here, but in any case, scales can register massive differentials & your weight can fluctuate enormously, even over the course of a day. This is why it's usually recommended that you weigh yourself at the same time of day (ideally when you first wake up, after your first pee - & naked too, at the risk of sounding pervy.)

I'm glad you had some help in staying away from the naughty stuff. Keep it up!

Thanks for the boost, I've decided to ditch the club, I've invested in a decent set of digital scales and hopefully I'll get my willpower back!
