Weight loss wise I've lost 5.5lbs; 4lb in the first two week and 1.5 in the second. I don't know about this week yet because I can't get weighed until Wednesday morning. I was struggling to fit exercise in because I'm always so busy so I gave up three of my lifts for the school run and I now power walk, which earns me 3 extra WW's points a day. I figured it would help turning something I have to do anyway, into something that can achieve something else.

The kids grumble a bit but we get home much quicker than we used to and it's good for them. They don't get anything like the exercise I used to get when I was at school so I'm hoping this will encourage them to be less lazy. I want to do more exercise so I'm going to try an work some kind of a time table out. The trouble is I'm notorious for not sticking to time tables, especially if I'm in the middle of writing. In fact if I'm in the middle of writing something I have to be reminded to do everything/i> else.

Hey all. I hope everybody's socking is going well. I just wanted to report/review on Weight Watchers online program. To wit: I love it. I don't know how it would be for people outside the US but I've lost 3.5 pounds this week (despite a bagel/muffin binge)! It helps if you have familiarity with the points system, but if you are on line alot, it's really easy. You type in your food, they look up the points and you can keep track of your eating. For example I get 22 points a day and 35 flex points. I aim to eat food that will keep me at 22 points per day. If I go up or have a special event, no big deal, I've got 35 extra points to use over the week. You also get extra points to spend if you exercise.

Anyway, I definitely recommend it! :)

I'm not a big fan of oil & vinegar dressings, & things like ketchup have a high sugar content. Mayo helps to spruce anything from a steak to a salad & it's much yummier than the mass-produced, carb-filled crap like Hellmann's.

Sigh.

The good news is I'm feeling way more in control of myself. The bad news is not enough.

Time of the month which means chocolate. Not a lot but some. I've got a ton of English chocolate in my freezer for such moments. Normally I'm NOT a chocolate eater (my demon is salty/cruchie things) but damn, do NOT get in my way when I'm craving it. Easy to get hurt.

Still eating too many carbo's and still not knowing what to do about it. Does anyone have any ideal what proteins I can eat that aren't too expensive. I mean, the price of beef? Holy Cow!

On the exercising front I'm still doing okay. My lower back is driving me insane but I figured out that I can do 20 min on the elliptical then 20 on the treadmill before I jump on the seated bike for the last 20. Believe me by then I'm wanting to curl up and cry. That last 20 minutes though I can do while seated and it's okay.

I've also added in weights. I know we lose muscle mass as we get older so that's the way to go. Again, just have to watch the back and neck.

I also have a "pulled" disc in my neck which is fun, fun, fun.

Sigh.

So, anyway, life goes on. Still in the same clothes, no big changes but I'm keeping on keeping on and that's the point. Long term and all.

from the Doc's that is. She'd prefer me to stay on full dosage a bit longer, she actually prefers that people stay on for at least a year and I haven't actually reached that yet. so come Feb, I'll start weaning down but if I find my moods become deflated while I'm doing so I'm to stop and go back to previous dosage. I told her about my involvement in the study for DiabetesAustralia so I'm going to do a fast and get my blood sugars tested and while I'm at it my TSH levels....saves on a prick. :P
